Job summary

The World Bank Group invites postgraduate students to join its Seismic Risk Management internship within the Corporate Real Estate team. You will contribute graduate-level engineering expertise while collaborating with staff and external consultants on portfolio-wide seismic risk frameworks.

Ideal candidates are in final-year Master’s/PhD programs in Structural, Earthquake, or Civil Engineering, with 0–6 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical skills in English.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience applying seismic or structural-engineering concepts is desirable.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Review existing seismic assessments and coordinate with project managers and external consultants.
• Complete remaining seismic assessments and consolidate ratings into portfolio databases.
• Develop a Seismic Risk Management Framework and integration into the real estate lifecycle.
• Draft technical requirements and scopes for future engineering assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and an implementation roadmap.
