Job summary

Vylor Inc. in Des Moines metro area is seeking a Software and Automation Engineering Co-op to join the Global Seed Operations Plant Excellence team.

You will work with engineers, operations partners, and cross-functional teammates to translate business needs into practical software and automation solutions for seed production equipment. This multi-term co-op offers hands-on development across the full lifecycle, exposure to machine vision, data systems, and device communication, with safety

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant technical field.
• Experience developing software using C#/.NET, Python, or Java.
• Ability to work safely around seed-production equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating on cross-functional project teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Designing, developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining software solutions for seed production equipment
• Troubleshooting software, device-communication, and system-integration issues
• Learning how plant and field equipment operate and identifying technology needs
• Planning and delivering work within seasonal production schedules and project timelines
• Communicating project progress and recommendations to engineering and business partners
