Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead and execute sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients.

The role requires independent work and team leadership, with expertise in regulatory programs such as CERCLA and GLLA. Travel may be required, and the candidate will coordinate with engineers and scientists to deliver world-class solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience with sediment remediation technologies and design.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to lead staff and liaise with clients.

Responsibilities

• Providing expertise in evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designing sediment remediation solutions for various site settings.
• Understanding principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modelling, dredge approaches, and remedial action construction.
• Supporting mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serving as task manager on components of complex sediment sites and communicating strategy to clients and SMEs.
• Demonstrating in-depth regulatory knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA and related processes at contaminated sediment sites.
• Acting as liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants, and translating technical evaluations for non-experts.
• Leading staff in preparing, reviewing, and ensuring documentation meets regulations and policy.
