Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Security Systems Technician to configure and service access control and VMS devices, coordinating with clients and contractors. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and high-quality service.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in security tech or 3+ years related experience, solid electronics knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. This full-time position offers paid training and travel between client sites.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of electronics, data networks, cabling, and AC/DC voltage.
Valid driver’s license with MV record meeting company standards.
Willing to travel between client facilities for projects.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and program access control and VMS systems including readers, doors, cameras, and intercom devices.
Coordinate with outside contractors on installations and repairs.
Service systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
Respond to trouble calls and occasional after-hours emergencies.
Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
Protect sensitive security information and maintain a safe work environment.

Security Engineers Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused Security Systems Technician who demonstrates initiative, communicates effectively, and provides high-quality service and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of electronics field, computer hardware/software, data networks, cabling, and AC/DC voltage.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards.
Must be willing travel between the client facilities for special projects.
Experience with Lenel, Pro-Watch (ProWatch), or other ID card/access control management software preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and VMS systems, including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gates, and intercom/phone devices.
Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
Service and troubleshoot systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
Maintain a safe work environment and keep security information confidential.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation(Subject to change based on client-specific needs)

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year with security technology.
Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Preferred:

Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
