Job summary

Metro Fire + Security in Las Vegas is seeking a skilled security technician to install and service comprehensive systems across multiple sites. You will read wiring diagrams and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation.

You will also train less experienced technicians, communicate issues to customers, and uphold safety standards while traveling to various job sites and working extended hours when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years security work experience.
• Nevada F-card and B/A/S cards required.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
• Able to travel to multiple job sites daily.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install security systems per provided job scopes.
• Provide preventive maintenance of equipment and/ or systems.
• Install and service access control systems.
• Install and service IP based camera systems.
• Install and service alarm systems.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Communicate equipment issues and potential solutions to customers.
• Explain and train customers on effective utilization of equipment.
• Update customer files and work orders accurately.
• Respond promptly to customer questions and concerns.
• Maintain compliance with safety programs.
• Maintain all applicable certifications.
• Lead, train, mentor and coach less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Install security systems per provided job scopes
• Provide preventive maintenance of equipment and/ or systems
• Install and service access control systems
• Install and service IP based camera systems
• Install and service alarm systems
• Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
• Effectively communicate equipment issues and potential solutions on work performed to customers
• Explain and train customers on effective utilization of equipment and/ or systems
• Efficiently and accurately update and complete customer files, including but not limited to customer contacts, work orders, parts utilized, and work performed
• Promptly and professionally respond to customers’ questions and concerns
• Understand and maintain compliance with company and customer safety program
• Maintain all applicable certifications for necessary products serviced by company
• Ability to lead, train, mentor and/ or coach less experienced technicians

Requirements

• Perform other related duties as assigned or required
• Valid driver’s license
• Authorized to work in the USA
• High School Diploma/ GED
• Authorized to work in the USA
• 3+ years prior security work experience
• Required to have Nevada F-card, and B/A/S cards
• Commercial experience
• Able to work flexible hours including after-hours, nights, and weekends
• Able to travel to multiple job sites each day
• Able to carry and move equipment and tools that weigh up to 100 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Access control installation and servicing experience – knowledge in S2 and Brivo, is a plus
• Experience with installation of controller, reader, contact, REX and electrified door hardware
• Commercial alarm system installation & servicing experience – knowledge in DMP, Honeywell, Ademco and DSC systems a plus
• Camera system installation experience, including network camera systems – knowledge in Exacq, Wave VMS a plus
• CAT5/6 network termination skills
• High precision/ detail-oriented
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Works effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job
