Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Security Technician II to support the Austin/Round Rock area. You will install and service CCTV cameras, access control systems, and low-voltage cabling while ensuring safety and quality on large commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience with access control and physical security systems. You will read construction drawings, coordinate with project teams, and maintain high safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of hands-on access control experience.
• Experience with access control systems and associated hardware.
• Hands-on low-voltage cabling experience including termination and testing.
• Experience with physical security system installations in commercial or industrial environments.
• Experience wiring doors and panels for Genetec, Lenel/S2, AMAG, and Software House/CCure.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and security system schematics.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install and service CCTV cameras, video surveillance systems, and related equipment.
• Install access control systems including badge readers, door controllers, mag locks, electric strikes, and REX devices.
• Pull, terminate, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 low-voltage cabling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, security layouts, and system schematics.
• Support installation and commissioning of physical security systems.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications and site standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects on schedule and within quality expectations.
