Job summary

In-Telecom in Texas is seeking an Access Control & Security Technician to install commercial access control, video surveillance, and related low-voltage systems. The role emphasizes project installation, running cabling, wiring devices, and testing completed work to ensure quality and safety.

The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, field leads, engineers, and vendors to meet scope, schedule, and client requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and site safety

Qualifications

• Two or more years of hands-on experience in access control, video surveillance, or low-voltage cabling.
• Experience running, terminating, testing and labeling low-voltage cabling.
• Experience installing and wiring cameras, access control devices, panels, relays, and power supplies.
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical principles and basic IP networking.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to produce clean workmanship and accurate project documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial access control, video surveillance, and related low-voltage security systems.
• Review project scope, drawings, device schedules, and material requirements before starting work.
• Run, support, terminate, test, and label Cat5e/6, low-voltage, and fiber-optic cabling as required.
• Install security cameras, access control readers, door contacts, electronic locks and power supplies.
• Wire and terminate panels while maintaining proper voltage, grounding, labeling and signal integrity.
• Coordinate with project team, test completed work, and document installation status.
