Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to troubleshoot, program, and repair life-safety systems for clients. You’ll work with the service team to ensure systems operate reliably, document work, and support project activities.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, strong communication, and the ability to read drawings and operate across security platforms. Occasional travel and OSHA awareness are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the building security systems industry.
• Knowledge of access control, IP video, and voice/data systems.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot complex security systems.
• Ability to read fire and security system design drawings.
• State, local, or product certifications as determined by the business. OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair security systems including analog, IP, addressable, and networked solutions.
• Program and maintain equipment and systems via laptop computers.
• Produce repair reports and field surveys for customer acceptance and billing.
• Provide guidance to other technicians and participate in project activities.
• Travel occasionally overnight and ensure safety, quality, and performance on onsite projects.
