Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Install Technician to perform installation, testing, and commissioning of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. The role requires reading blueprints and diagrams, installing components per specifications, and ensuring compliance with codes and customer requirements.

The technician will troubleshoot issues, document work orders, and communicate progress to customers and team members while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Experience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and related low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts and manuals.
• Install system components per project specs and ensure proper connections.
• Test and verify functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues and complete corrective actions promptly and safely.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform installation tasks efficiently.
• Complete installation documentation, work orders and project reports on time.
• Communicate progress with customers, team members and supervisors.
• Follow safety procedures and site requirements; travel to job sites as needed.
