Job summary

Per Mar Security Services in Urbandale, IA is seeking hardworking technicians to install, service, and test electronic security systems including burglar and fire alarms, CCTV, and access control in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Starting pay ranges from $20-$35 per hour based on experience, plus a monthly incentive program of up to 10% of your annual pay. Company vehicle and cell phone provided, with training and field experience to help you grow.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and pre-employment background checks and drug tests.
• Must obtain licenses/certifications to perform work in the security industry according to state rules and regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED required for all Per Mar Security Services positions.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Must have mathematical skills including ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume along with ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Must have knowledge of fire and electrical codes to ensure safe and proper installation of alarm systems and devices.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire specified alarm system devices.
• Test and verify that all systems and devices installed function properly and per manufacturer specifications.
• Use multimeters for volts and OHM readings and circuit analysis.
• Connect RJ31X to panel mountings for motion detectors, keypads, and controls.
• Program alarm systems via programmer or keypad.
• Explain and demonstrate to customers how the installed system works.
• Complete proper paperwork and submit to the appropriate department daily.
• Communicate with clients, co-workers and Per Mar's Central Monitoring Station.
• All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
