Job summary

IES Communications in Round Rock, TX is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support the delivery of commercial security and low-voltage projects. Ideal background includes electronic security, access control, CCTV, structured cabling, or telecommunications.

You will work with project managers, technicians, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to coordinate projects from planning through installation and completion, including schedules, budgets, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, construction, security systems, low-voltage, telecommunications, or a related field
• Familiarity with access control, CCTV/video surveillance, or electronic security systems
• Understanding of basic networking concepts such as IP, Ethernet, PoE, and network connectivity
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
• Construction, project management, ERP, CRM, or ticketing software experience is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively with both field and office teams
• Willingness to travel to customer and project sites as needed

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and execution of commercial security and low-voltage projects
• Coordinate with customers, technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, materials, purchasing, and documentation
• Review construction drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and project requirements
• Support projects involving access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercoms, and integrated security systems
• Track project progress, costs, change orders, and deliverables
• Assist with system commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolving field issues
• Participate in customer and project meetings
• Help ensure projects meet quality, safety, schedule, and customer expectations
• Support project closeout and customer turnover
• Identify opportunities to improve project processes and efficiency
