Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks a Security Systems Engineering Scientist to design, analyze, integrate, and sustain advanced security solutions for the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) at the Pickle Research Campus.

You will perform system and mission analysis, build and integrate systems, document requirements, collect and report data, and support field installation and testing, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams across the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, systems engineering or other related field.
• Three years of related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail, problem solving, and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• System and mission analysis; identify gaps and develop novel solutions.
• Design, build, test, and integrate systems and system-of-systems.
• Create and maintain documentation for mission analysis, system design, configuration management, and testing.
• Participate in data collection, management, analysis and reporting.
• Support installation and testing of equipment in field locations.
