Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks a Linux Security Engineering Scientist Associate to develop, test, integrate, and document information security for large TCP/IP Linux network systems in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

Responsibilities include designing security settings, audit mechanisms, and infrastructure controls; testing and profiling security mechanisms; and ensuring documentation and configuration management for Linux network equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience designing, configuring, testing and documenting security for TCP/IP Linux networks.
• Experience with Linux and network security fundamentals.
• US Citizenship and eligibility for security clearance for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop information security for Linux network systems, including security settings and audit mechanisms.
• Test, troubleshoot, audit and profile information security mechanisms to meet system requirements.
• Document and configure manage information security mechanisms for Linux network equipment.
