The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks an ATL Security and IT Manager to lead secure IT operations and regulatory compliance for a defense-focused research environment, ensuring systems meet DoD and federal cybersecurity requirements while enabling high-performance research.

You will oversee network and compute environments, manage risk assessments, incident response, and staff, coordinating with DoD stakeholders.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
• Eight years of IT and cybersecurity experience in a regulated or federal environment.
• Experience supporting DoD, UARC, FFRDC, or defense contractor programs.
• Working knowledge of NIST-based cybersecurity frameworks and accreditation processes.
• US Citizenship required.
• Subject to government security investigation and eligibility for access to classified information.
• Eligibility for immediate access to classified information as required.

Mansioni

• Lead secure IT infrastructure operations, including research networks, compute environments, storage, and endpoint management.
• Oversee cybersecurity strategy and implementation aligned with DoD frameworks.
• Manage risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, and audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with CUI, ITAR/EAR, and sponsor-specific security requirements.
• Develop and enforce IT governance, policies, and security procedures.
• Lead and mentor IT/security staff; manage budgets and vendor relationships.
• Serve as primary liaison to laboratory IT, security offices, and DoD stakeholders.
• Other related functions as assigned.
