Home/Life Services Inc. established in 1995, is a community-based, human services organization committed to improving the economic and social health of families impacted by homelessness. Operating from a client centered perspective, Home/Life provides a safe and therapeutic environment that supports the social and economic independence of its families served. By developing and implementing innovative services and programs within our Families with Children’s facilities, we provide case management and job counseling, as well as help our families access the economic housing support that allows them to enter and stay in permanenthousing.

Under the direction of The Security Director, The Security Supervisor is responsible for providing security to the facility and manages a team of Security Guards that ensure all residents and staff are observing facility rules. The candidate must have a valid NYS Security Guard License, NYS Fire Guard Certification (F02), and a Certificate of Fitness (F80).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Security Supervisor include but not limited to:

Administrative:
  • Ensures daily log, visitor and resident daily and nightly sign-in logs, and other records are maintained in an accurate and timely manner by security staff
  • Responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of Security Staffpayroll
  • Must report a Priority One to Program Director within 30 minutes ofincident
  • Reporting complaints and or issues to the Security Directorimmediately
  • Prepares write-ups and hands them off to site leadership forfinalization
Leadership and Staff Development:
  • Leads and directs security team in the event of an emergencyevacuation
  • Ensures Security Guards acquire an understanding of building features and potentialproblems
  • Ensures that security staff actively monitor CCTV system, and immediately report to supervisor activities that violate safety and security protocols, and logsobservations
  • Makes sure all Security Guards are properly dressed in theiruniforms
  • Makes sure all Security Guards treat clients and employees withrespect
  • Oversees documentation related to failure-to-signincidents.
Programmatic Achievement:
  • OverseesSecurityGuards’dailyoperationstoensureasecureandfunctionalenvironmentforthe
  • residents, staff and visitors
  • Ensures that fire drills are executed asrequired
  • Ensures that monthly Fire Safety inspections are conducted asnecessary
  • Continuously observes all residents and develops the ability to recognize signs of substance abuse, child abuse, and criminal activity and immediately advises the appropriate staff and works with the facility team to conduct investigations, asappropriate
  • Ensures that the interior/exterior of building, surrounding perimeter, and client dormitories are monitored by a securityguard
  • In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to interact effectively with the facility staff and client population (verbally and in writing)
  • Must be willing and able to be certified in First Aid/CPR
  • Must be willing and able to remain at post beyond regularly scheduled hours for appropriate relief, if necessary
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as run, liftetc.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
