Caesars Entertainment in Joliet is seeking a Security Officer/Shift Supervisor to assist the Security Manager in achieving department goals and ensuring guest and employee safety.

Assists Security Manager & Security Shift Managers in accomplishing security and valet departmental goals and objectives.
Ensures employee satisfaction by providing two-way communication, training, schedules, and timely performance appraisals.
Exhibits sound decision‑making attributes, motivates employees and exhibits effective supervisory skills.
Provides administrative assistance to the Security Shift Manager including scheduling and payroll.
Has a thorough and sound working knowledge of Illinois Gaming Board Minimum Internal Control Standards as well as Harrah’s Entertainment Internal Control Submissions.
Maintains and enforces policies and procedures to protect the company assets as well as guest safety (both internal and external).
Monitors incident reports ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Initiates investigatory process when appropriate.
Provides testimony in court when required.
Ensures cleanliness, organization and safe conditions of driveways, sidewalks, hotel entrance, lobby, and luggage storage areas.
Maintains knowledge of the hotel, community and special events in‑order to accurately provide guest with information.
Acts as a role model and coaches while developing employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulates expectations.
Adheres to all department/company policies and procedures.
Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner.
All other tasks as assigned by the Security Manager and VP of Finance.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
1-2 years experience with Guest Safety, valet operations or other related casino experience required.
CPR/AED certification required (If not currently certified, must obtain within first 90‑days of employment).
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid driver’s license with no outstanding moving violations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Ability to work a rotating shift with fluctuating days off.
Must possess excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
Must be flexible to work all shifts and possess a professional appearance and demeanor
Must be able to foster teamwork and a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks.
Must be able to produce a cohesive team environment while working with all levels in the organization.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts.
Must be able to speak distinctly and persuasively to others.
Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office, CMS or LMS.
Must have demonstrated strong managerial and leadership skills in previous position(s).
Must pass the SuperLap assessment.
Internal candidates must meet transfer eligibility requirements.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifts up to a maximum of 20 lbs. and may occasionally lift up to 150 lbs.
Must be able to carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
Position requires 25% standing, 25% sitting, 40% walking, 10% running.
Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift and mobility to move easily around entire property.
Requires some bending, pushing, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead.
Requires frequent climbing.
Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues.
Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment involving constant public contact.
