Job summary

Embedding VC in San Francisco seeks a Head of Security to define and drive the company-wide security architecture and phased roadmap. You will lead security initiatives across critical platforms, including wallet management, trading systems, IAM, and infrastructure, ensuring security is embedded in engineering and day-to-day operations.

You will anticipate emerging threats, build robust risk assessment and incident response capabilities, and advise the CTO on priorities and investments critical

Qualifications

• Experience leading security for high-value assets or 24/7 mission-critical systems.
• Ability to set a long-term security direction while handling incident response.
• Strong ability to communicate risks to business and technology leaders.
• Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or digital assets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define Embedding VC’s company-wide security architecture and phased roadmap.
• Lead security initiatives across wallet and key management, trading systems, identity and access, software development, and infrastructure.
• Build risk assessment, threat detection, and incident response capabilities, embedding security into engineering and operations.
• Advise the CTO on major risks, priorities, and investment decisions.
