Job summary

Shain Associates seeks a highly technical Security Guardian, Vice President to lead security strategy across engineering, platform, and business teams.

This hands-on leader defends cloud and distributed environments, reviews architectures, and embeds robust security controls to reduce risk while enabling fast, secure product delivery.

You will translate security tradeoffs for senior leadership and partner with engineering as an embedded security expert to build secure systems by default.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with focus on Product and Cloud security.
• 3+ years in financial services.
• Agentic AI security and smart contract security preferred.
• AWS or Azure cloud security certification valued.
• Bachelor’s in CS or related field; professional security certs preferred.
• Experience collaborating with engineering in embedded security.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on security assessments at application, platform, and system levels.
• Design concrete security controls embedded into architectures and cloud environments.
• Drive down security risk by validating controls in production.
• Partner with engineering as embedded security expert to influence design.
• Provide security guidance to senior leadership with clear trade-offs.
• Demonstrate depth in multiple advanced security domains.
• Apply secure software delivery practices in agile DevSecOps environments.
• Embed security into iterative delivery with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Communicate risks and remediation strategies to executives clearly.
