Target is hiring a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members and store assets. You will greet customers, assist with needs, and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience. The role requires flexibility, de-escalation skills, and adherence to AP policies.

Training is provided to develop security skills while maintaining store safety. Applicants should be at least 18, have a high school diploma, and meet local licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or legal requirements.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly guest experience by greeting guests at 10ft and 4ft ranges.
• Help guests find products and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team members and assist peers while staying respectful.
• Promote a safe security culture and maintain store safety standards.
• Document security incidents accurately in the case management system.
• Respond promptly to guest issues to ensure a safe environment.
• Use de-escalation techniques and security resources when needed.
• Recover merchandise and communicate shortage trends per AP policies.
• Operate Target video surveillance and follow AP policies.
