Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist in our New York stores. You will help protect guests, teammates and assets while delivering a friendly guest experience.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork and the ability to respond to incidents using Target's surveillance and case-management tools. Training is provided, and candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to work nights, weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments
• Greet guests at 10ft and 4ft markers with a warm interaction
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards storewide
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner
• Appropriately respond to guest issues to provide a safe environment
• Use de-escalation tactics and resources for security incidents
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support
• Prevent theft and shortage by checks and trend recognition
• Submit documentation in the case management system following AP policy
