Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and the store. The role involves preventing theft, monitoring safety, and responding to incidents across the store, with a strong emphasis on de-escalation and high service standards.

Applicants should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Training is provided to develop the necessary skills for crisis response and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Collaborate with team members and support peers as needed.
• Promote a safe and secure environment by following AP policies and procedures.
• Document security incidents accurately in the case management system.
• Respond to incidents timely and maintain safety standards across the store.
• Conduct theft recoveries and communicate trends to prevent shortages.
