Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members, and the brand in a fast-paced retail environment. You will engage in crisis response, de-escalation, and risk mitigation while delivering excellent guest service and maintaining store safety.

Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and can work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends. Training is provided to develop security operation skills and effective incident recording.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Greet guests and assist them to find what they need for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest interaction with a sincere thank you and resolve issues promptly.

• Maintain safe and secure store environment and document security incidents.
• Use video surveillance and case management systems to track and document incidents.
• Prevent theft and shortages by adhering to AP policies and performing checks as required.
