Job summary

Target is looking for a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and assets in a fast-paced store environment. You will greet customers, deter theft, respond to incidents, and document cases using our case management system.

This role requires 18+ years, a high school diploma, ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and comfort with physical activity up to 40 pounds. Training is provided, and opportunities exist to grow within Asset Protection.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Respond to and document security incidents promptly in the case management system.
• Use de-escalation tactics and Target's video surveillance system as needed.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and assist with apprehensions per AP policies.
• Perform front-of-store merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and communicate trends.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
