Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members, and merchandise while supporting store operations. You will handle safety incidents, document findings, and maintain security protocols to foster a safe shopping environment.

The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, plus the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and use surveillance systems. Training will cover crisis response and de-escalation to ensure excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to meet licensure requirements.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with needs to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Respond to security incidents and document them promptly.
• Prevent theft and manage merchandise at the front of store per AP policies.
• Use de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts.
• Maintain video surveillance and report safety hazards.
• Collaborate with store leadership and public safety when needed.
• Work in varying temperatures and lift up to 40 pounds.
