Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and the brand. You will greet guests, help locate items and respond to incidents while using Target's video surveillance to deter theft and resolve problems.

Requirements include being 18+, having a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds with a flexible schedule including nights and holidays; comprehensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments.
• Greet guests at appropriate distances and initiate a warm, helpful interaction.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Use de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
• Submit documentation in the case management system for all incidents following AP policy.
