Job summary

Target Security Specialists help keep guests, team members, and the brand safe while maintaining a welcoming shopping experience. The role involves using intelligence-led tactics, crisis response, de-escalation, and operating Target's video surveillance system to protect merchandise.

You will greet guests, assist with issues, document incidents, and support peers while adhering to AP policies. The position requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, and the ability to work a flexible schedule

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: greet guests, help them find what they need, and end every transaction with a sincere thank you
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards throughout the store, including exterior property
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents in a timely manner
• Appropriately respond to guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment
• Use de-escalation tactics when responding to security incidents across the store
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed
• Prevent theft and shortage by performing merchandise receipt checks and communicating trends
• Submit documentation in the case management system following AP policy
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work safely and report hazards; follow training and policies
• All other duties based on business needs
