Neighborhood Association for Inter-Cultural Affairs in New York, NY seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee security staff and ensure a safe environment for residents and employees. Supervision of Residence Workers and Guards, with direction and crisis support, is required.

The role involves monitoring premises, risk assessment, incident reporting, and coordination with departments. Evening/weekend shifts may be required; strong English communication and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is required before probation expiration.
• Food Protection Certification is required before probation expiration.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
• General knowledge of working in a residential facility preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good judgment and the ability to make timely, sound decisions.
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English for administrative purposes.
• Drug screening will be required.
• Position may be subject to investigations before/after appointment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor clients, units and grounds to ensure safety.
• Examine items entering the facility for safety.
• Provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed.
• Record incidents and grievances in logbook and incident reports.
• Maintain communication with department supervisors on social services issues.
• Manage entry logs to record all who enter the facility.
• Inspect cleaning and service chores for completion.
• Contribute to site goals and efficiency.
• Assist clients with questions and issues.
• Monitor video surveillance of facility areas.
• Adhere to safety, health, and fire guidelines and procedures.
• Report safety hazards to supervisors or maintenance.
• Provide coverage when needed.
• May work evenings, weekends and holidays.
