Job summary

Westhab, Inc. in NYC is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee security operations at a 24/7 homeless shelter.

This role requires face-to-face coverage, supervision of on-shift security staff, and clear reporting to the Security Manager. You will monitor access control, operate magnetometer and x-ray, respond to incidents, and conduct daily safety inspections while coordinating crisis management to protect clients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience required.
• N.Y.S Security Guard License and Fire Guard License F80 required; CPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security staff during shift, assign breaks and posts.
• Monitor access control, magnetometer, and x-ray operations.
• Respond to incidents and use crisis management to protect staff and clients.
• Conduct rounds and inspect safety and fire systems daily.
• Coordinate with Security Manager and other staff; report incidents promptly.
• Perform duties of Safety Security Officer when needed; overtime is expected.
