GEO Secured Services is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee security operations and staff in a correctional facility. The role involves coordinating prisoner supervision, safety, and maintaining essential records and reports.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least 3 years in a correctional setting with supervisory experience, and the ability to manage emergencies and staff performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting, one of which was in a supervisory role.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Responsibilities

• Supervises security/control activities and staff in an assigned area, providing maximum facility coordination in prisoner supervision and safety, and prepares required records and reports.
• Assists in development and implementation of policies, procedures and regulations for custody, security and/or treatment of detainees/inmates.
• Responds to major unusual occurrences and facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to detainees/inmates in case of injury, illness or trauma.
• Promotes an atmosphere conducive to character development of detainees/inmates and staff through positive behavior and facility management.
• Directs the work of other employees, including hiring, evaluating performance, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Makes assignments, reviews post orders, and ensures emergency procedures are in place and staff are trained.
• Reviews disciplinary matters and staff effectiveness; conducts inspections to ensure policy compliance.
• Gives primary guidance on situational problems and makes referrals for complex issues.
• Prepares records and reports; maintains daily logs.
• Responsible for attaining facility goals and ensuring compliance with rules and procedures for security operations.
• Directs work and inspections of detainee/inmate staff; may provide supervision in other areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
