Job summary

Johnson Controls Security Technician position offering hands-on service for intrusion, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems. You will diagnose issues, inform customers of next steps, and return systems to full operation with clear reports.

Expect to inspect and repair gear, prepare professional documentation, and support efficiency improvements on client sites. You will read blueprints, coordinate with authorities when required, and help fellow technicians with repairs while maintaining

Qualifications

• 6+ years in low-voltage or security industry.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Well versed in Access Controls, CCTV, Burglary and Fire Alarms in Commercial Applications.
• Reading blueprints and schematic drawings is a plus.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems.
• Identify customer needs and explain next steps and repair plans to restore functionality.
• Inspect systems for proper operation and provide written/digital reports.
• Provide high level service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve issues.
• Act as trusted advisor and provide solutions at time of service.
• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust/repair/replace inoperative equipment and test operation.
• Coordinate inspections/ installations with authorities as needed.
• Perform repairs/inspections of intrusion, CCTV, access control and fire alarms.
• Assist other technicians with repairs and complete minor tasks.
• Test system operation with monitoring center to establish connectivity.
• Complete forms and customer paperwork.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to support solutions.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Security Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert possessing knowledge and experience with intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. Candidate will possess strong verbal communication skills as they identify the needs of the customer and then inform them of next steps and processes to repair the system as needed to return full functionality. Candidate will possess skills and experience to inspect said systems to ensure proper functionality and provide written or digital reports to customer and company as needed.Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service

How you will do it

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
• Performs repair and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, Access Control systems and fire alarms (if applicable).
• Assists fellow service technicians with system repairs and completes minor repairs including battery replacement.
• Tests operation of system to the customer monitoring center to properly establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

Required

• 6+ years in low-voltage or security industry.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or GED (General Education Development)
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Well Versed in Access Controls, CCTV, Burglary and Fire Alarms in Commercial Applications

Preferred

• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to unload ladder from fleet vehicle and climb ladder.
• Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service
• Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29.13 - 40.09 Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
