Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a Project Manager to lead small to medium technical projects from award through completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence. The role covers planning, scheduling, procurement, field teams, and customer communication, with a focus on data centers and commercial security integration.

You will manage P&L, forecasting, and multi-site projects ($2M–$7M each) while fostering strong customer relationships and delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of project management experience in a technical environment.
  • Experience with electronic security, fire alarm and life safety, building automation systems, or similar technical systems.
  • Strong preference for data center project experience and commercial physical security integration.
  • Experience managing scheduling, P&L, cost control, and material and labor forecasting.
  • Experience leading field teams, subcontractors, and technical personnel.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and project communications.
  • Experience overseeing multiple data center projects valued at $2–$7 million per site.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing small to medium technical projects from award through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality and customer requirements. This customer-facing role oversees project planning, scheduling, financial performance, material and labor forecasting, procurement, field teams, subcontractors, and project documentation. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical expertise and project management experience, with a strong preference for experience in data centers and commercial physical security integration. This position requires strong leadership, financial management, communication, and problem-solving skills to successfully manage multiple project priorities and maintain positive customer relationships.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate small to medium projects of moderate complexity from award through project completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, implementation plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Manage project financial performance, including P&L, cost control, labor and material forecasting, and positive cash flow.
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed project plans, proposals, schedules, and execution strategies.
  • Manage multiple data center and technical integration projects, including projects with values ranging from approximately $2 million to $7 million per site.
  • Lead and coordinate field teams, including foremen, project specialists, installers, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate project requirements, priorities, schedules, and changes to customers, field teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of project status, changes, material flow, schedules, costs, and other information required for internal and external reporting.
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials, supplies, services, and controls necessary for timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Monitor project costs and schedules, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate subcontractor selection and oversee subcontractor performance and work quality.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide responsive, professional communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate collaboration among customers, project teams, field personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development support to project and field team members.
  • Ensure assigned projects meet applicable safety, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Adapt effectively to changing project conditions, priorities, schedules, and customer requirements.
Job Requirements
  • 5-7 years of project management experience in a technical environment.
  • Relevant experience with electronic security, fire alarm and life safety, building automation systems, or similar technical systems.
  • Strong preference for previous data center project experience.
  • Strong preference for commercial physical security integration experience.
  • Experience managing project scheduling, P&L, cost control, and material and labor forecasting.
  • Experience leading field teams, subcontractors, and technical project personnel.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and project communications.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously; experience overseeing multiple data center projects valued at approximately $2 million to $7 million per site is preferred.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with demonstrated experience managing project costs and budgets.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and maintain a collaborative working environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and customer communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification or relevant industry-specific certifications and licenses are preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education
