Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a Department Manager to lead daily operations of a designated department, ensuring performance, budgets, and project delivery. The role requires strategic leadership, client relationship management, and the development of high-performing teams.

You will oversee multiple projects, optimize processes, monitor quality and safety, and collaborate with internal teams and executives to achieve department goals and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Develop, implement, and monitor department goals and objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate Project Managers and department staff.
  • Oversee multiple projects to ensure schedules, budgets, quality standards, and customer expectations are met.
  • Review project financial performance, forecasts, and Client planning.
  • Conduct forecast and resource alignment meetings to support operational needs.
  • Identify, elevate, and mitigate project schedule, funding, and operational risks.
  • Lead change management initiatives and oversee change order strategy to protect project margins.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and identify opportunities to expand existing business relationships.
  • Monitor quality assurance and safety metrics across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Optimize department processes to improve efficiency and operational performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Ensure accurate billing and oversee accounts receivable and payable activities.
  • Develop staffing plans and collaborate with recruiting teams to support workforce needs.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement.

The Department Manager is accountable for driving department goals, maintaining quality and safety standards, optimizing processes, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This position requires strong leadership, financial oversight, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and executive stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience reviewing financial performance, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes and performance management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business software applications.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
