The City of Boise is seeking a Security Program Specialist I to maintain safety and security at Boise Public Library locations. You will patrol facilities, monitor cameras, enforce the Library Code of Conduct, and respond to security incidents in collaboration with law enforcement and mental health coordinators.

This role requires independent judgment and strong conflict resolution skills, with evenings and weekend hours expected to support library operations and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution principles and techniques.
• Ability to use computer applications and software.

Responsibilities

• Patrol library facilities and monitor security systems.
• Enforce the Library Code of Conduct and respond to security incidents.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and mental health coordinators as directed.
• Provide customer service to staff and the public during security events.
• Coordinate emergency responses and maintain professional conduct under pressure.
