Job summary

The City of Boise is hiring a Security Program Specialist I to maintain safety at Boise Public Library locations. You will patrol facilities, monitor cameras, enforce conduct codes, and respond to security incidents.

You’ll collaborate with mental health coordinators and law enforcement to address security concerns and assist library users in crisis situations. Applicants should have strong judgment, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to stay professional under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in security, emergency management, or risk and safety is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are required.
• Flexibility to respond to emergencies and irregular events.

Responsibilities

• Patrol library facilities and monitor security systems and cameras.
• Enforce the Library Code of Conduct and respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Collaborate with mental health coordinators, community resource specialists, and law enforcement.
• Coordinate during emergencies and support evacuation as needed.
• Work with a team to maintain safety and accessibility for staff and the public.
