Job summary

Allied Universal in Irvine, CA is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Driver Open-Air Shopping to safeguard clients at a retail location. You will drive assigned areas, perform patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering excellent guest service.

The role requires 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM shifts, Monday through Friday, at pay rate $21.50 per hour. Candidates should have a HS diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background and drug

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check as per laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, tenants, and retail patrons by following site procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of retail areas, parking locations, and surrounding perimeter to deter incidents and identify concerns.
• Respond to incidents calmly, following escalation and reporting procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations.
• Prepare accurate logs and incident reports and communicate security information to site management.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, tenants, and retail patrons by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail areas, common areas, parking locations, building exteriors, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and assistance, and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant security-related information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
