Position Overview

Company Confidential maintains a discreet, around-the-clock protective program safeguarding principals, their families, estates, and associated assets. We are seeking a licensed and experienced Security Operations Specialist to serve as an armed protective professional within this program, operating across secure operations centers and dynamic field environments.

The Security Operations Specialist is accountable for the continuous safety of the principals and assets under our protection. The role combines vigilant monitoring, proactive threat detection, disciplined use-of-force decision-making, and decisive incident response, executed in close coordination with executive protection teams, law enforcement, and trusted vendors. It is a demanding position suited to a composed operator who performs reliably under pressure and exercises sound, independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide armed protective coverage for principals, family members, estates, and associated properties, including offices, public events, and other designated sites


• Monitor and operate electronic security systems — including video surveillance, access control, and intrusion and alarm systems — to detect, deter, prevent security breaches


• Conduct routine patrols and access control; screen, monitor, and manage visitors, vendors, and contractors at all designated sites


• Observe, identify, investigate, and report suspicious, unusual, or significant activity; prepare accurate incident and information reports


• Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, serving as on-scene incident lead until properly relieved


• Render emergency medical aid — including CPR, AED, and tourniquet application — until EMS assumes care


• Carry and deploy an exposed firearm in strict accordance with California licensing, company policy, and applicable use-of-force law


• Support executive protection personnel in the field with timely security, logistical, and route information as conditions evolve


• Coordinate with law enforcement and allied security professionals as circumstances require


• Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion at all times

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent


• A minimum of three years of private security experience, or an equivalent combination of military service and/or relevant education


• Active California Guard Card and California Exposed Firearm Permit with a 9mm caliber endorsement


• Valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record


• Current CPR/AED certification


• Demonstrated proficiency in defensive tactics and the lawful application of both lethal and less-lethal options


• Proven ability to assess threats rapidly and exercise sound, independent judgment under pressure


• Strong de-escalation skills and the ability to interact professionally and courteously with individuals at all levels


• Professional presentation, excellent interpersonal skills, and clear written and verbal communication in English


• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and general computer systems


• Willingness and ability to work in proximity to animals

Schedule & Availability

This is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring availability across all shifts — day, evening, and overnight — and all days, including weekends and holidays. On-call status and irregular hours are required as operational needs dictate.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, motor vehicle record check, drug screening, and a job‑related physical performance evaluation. Drug screenings and physical performance evaluations are also conducted on a recurring basis throughout employment. A mental health evaluation may be required as warranted. The role demands that candidates maintain peak physical condition and the capability to perform essential protective functions under duress.

The hourly pay range for this position is $40.00 – $45.00. Company Confidential also offers a comprehensive benefit package
