About the Role: We are seeking a seasoned Executive Security Specialist to support a dynamic corporate protection program. This position provides close protection and secure transportation to senior executives operating in complex and high-visibility environments.

The role requires advanced capability in protective operations, threat assessment, and advance planning, with an emphasis on proactive risk identification and mitigation. The agent will coordinate closely with Executive Protection, Intelligence, and Corporate Security leadership, as well as external partners, to ensure operational continuity and a seamless security posture across all areas of travel and engagement.

Core responsibilities include conducting protective advances, managing secure transport logistics, maintaining situational awareness through active intelligence monitoring, and implementing strategic protection plans aligned with enterprise threat intelligence and safety objectives.

Ideal candidates will possess a background in executive protection, law enforcement, military, or intelligence operations, with demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment under pressure. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to integrate within a multidisciplinary protection and intelligence framework. Familiarity with healthcare systems and executive operations within regulated environments is preferred.

This is a full-time position based at the Oakland, CA headquarters, requiring periodic travel in support of executive operations and participation in ongoing training and readiness programs.

Job Roles & Responsibilities
Executive Protection (50%)
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of senior executives. This will involve conducting comprehensive site surveys/advances to evaluate potential security threats and implementing suitable countermeasures.
  • Additionally, the Executive Security Specialist will oversee logistical aspects such as transportation, accommodations, and venue security to facilitate the smooth and secure movement of executives during events and travel.
  • In certain instances, collaboration with local law enforcement agencies and external security providers will be necessary to establish effective communication channels.
Executive Travel (30%)
  • Accountable for overseeing executive travel arrangements, both domestically and internationally, throughout events and corporate offices.
  • This entails devising and executing security protocols and procedures, liaising with local law enforcement agencies and security consultants, and working closely with a team of executive protection specialists to safeguard executives during their travels.
  • The Executive Security Specialist will collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, or vendors to ensure that the executive protection program aligns with the overall security strategy of the company.
  • This may include working with Executive Staff, HR, Legal, and IT departments to ensure that security policies and procedures are properly integrated into the company's overall operations.
Administrative Activities (5%)
  • Completing required compliance documents, mandatory company trainings, vendor access requirements.
Professional Training and Development (5%)
  • Completing recertification training, participating in advanced skills training as directed, pursuing new product training, advancing qualifications
  • Minor financial management for regional allotment, under supervision and approval from the Director of Executive Protection.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent. Additional relevant education or training in law enforcement, security management, risk assessment, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in executive protection, close protection, or a related field, to include Military service. (Physical Security will not be considered as experience).
  • Licenses/Training: CA BSIS Security Guard & Exposed Firearms, CCW, BLS First Aid/ AED Adult & Children, and completion of recognized Executive Protection training academy/program. Acceptable training academies include Gavin de Becker, AUS, PFC, R.L. Oatman, EPI, Gov/Military/LEO PSD training programs.
  • Skills/Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in utilizing communication software such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Word. Strong report writing, including the development of security planning documents, country reports, and risk assessments.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with executives, colleagues, and external parties. Executive Support Specialist must be capable of providing clear instructions, maintaining open lines of communication, and defusing tense situations using effective communication, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Demonstrated the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality is vital in this role. Executive Support Specialist must exercise discretion in all interactions and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the executives they protect.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Combination of at least 6 years demonstrating expertise in executive protection and close protection is desired. Previous experience in a corporate or healthcare environment is highly valued. Prior Law Enforcement and/or applicable Military experience adjacent to executive protection will be sought after.
  • Licenses/Training: In addition to the minimum experience requirements: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Evasion Vehicle Ooperator Course (EVOC), CA Concealed Carry Permit (CCW) Tactical Emergency Casualty Care of Combat (TECCC/TCCC) and PMI training is highly preferred.
  • Skills/Specialized Knowledge: Proficient in emergency management software, cybersecurity, incident reporting, threat assessment software, and drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
