Job summary

Sunstates Security is seeking an Operations Manager to lead multiple accounts in the Laurel, MD area. The role focuses on developing and maintaining strong client relationships while directing day-to-day security operations and supervisory staff.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of security supervision, with the ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid and state licenses within set timeframes. On-site work is required with occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and three or more years of related supervision in the security industry.
• Must obtain CPR/AED/1st Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain MD, VA & DC license within 90 days of hire.
• Field work 3 days per week with alternating weekends.
• Complete OJT of active accounts within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and motivate supervisory staff to oversee day-to-day site security operations.
• Oversee onboarding including interviewing, hiring, training, licensure, and paperwork.
• Train supervisors on software systems, procedures, and company policies; enforce consistency.
• Coordinate payroll, billing, AR aging, staffing, scheduling, and personnel issues.
• Conduct site assist visits and audits per QA program.
• Collaborate with Regional Manager to set goals and communicate them to staff.
• Partner with Sales/Marketing to identify new business opportunities.

Sunstates Security has an immediate opening for a talented and motivated Operations Manager to manage multiple accounts in Laurel, MD area. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to employees and develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.

This position offers a full compensation package of over $ 92,000, which includes --

• Annual performance-based bonus - up to 10% of base salary

The Operations Manager will assist in the administration of the region by:

• Training, developing, and motivating supervisory staff to effectively oversee all day-to-day operations of the site security personnel.
• Overseeing the employee onboarding process including new hire interviewing, selection of candidates, training and licensure, and new hire paperwork.
• Training subordinate supervisors on software systems, procedural guidelines, and company policies and enforcing consistency in policy practice.
• Coordinating operational functions including payroll and billing, accounts receivable aging, staffing, scheduling, and personnel issues.
• Carrying out site assist visits and audits in accordance with the Quality Assurance program.
• Coordinating with the Regional Manager and Regional Director to establish branch goals and objectives and communicate these with branch staff.
• Working with sales and marketing to identify and develop new business opportunities.

The requirements for the Operations Manager include:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university and three (3) or more years of related experience and supervision in the security industry.
• Must be able to get CPR/AED/1st Aid Cert within 30-days of hire
• Must be able to get MD, VA & DC License within 90-days of hire
• Must be able to work in the field 3 days/week and alternating weekends
• Must complete OJT of all active accounts within 120 days of hire
• Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
