Job Description

As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As an Access Control Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and unauthorized access. Your presence and routine patrols contribute to a secure environment, while your communication skills support positive interactions with visitors and staff. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license. Our team values agility, reliability, and innovation, and we prioritize people through teamwork and integrity in all interactions.

Pay Rate: $14.10 / Hour

Mon 05:00 PM - 05:00 AM

Tue 03:30 PM - 11:30 PM

Wed 03:30 PM - 11:30 PM

Sun 05:00 PM - 05:00 AM

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out access control procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the government facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential issues.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verifying credentials and granting access according to established protocols.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual activities, or policy violations observed during shifts.
• Collaborate with local authorities and emergency responders when required, following established communication procedures.
• Maintain a visible presence at assigned posts to help to deter unwanted activity and provide assistance to employees and visitors as needed.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver's license in the state of employment is required for driving positions.
• A valid driver's license that meets Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements is required for driving positions.
• At least 6 months of security experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
