Allied Universal in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to monitor a retail distribution location, deter security incidents, and provide professional service to employees and visitors.

You will conduct patrols, verify credentials at access points, respond to alarms, and maintain a visible, welcoming presence while upholding company standards.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and successful completion of background and drug screening.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees at a retail distribution location by following site procedures and, when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to detect hazards or unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel and visitors.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and notify the appropriate contacts or responders.
• Deter theft, trespassing, and other security concerns through a visible presence and timely reporting.

You will conduct routine patrols, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and support a welcoming environment. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees at a retail distribution location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, delivery drivers, vendors, and visitors in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity through a visible presence, professional communication, and timely reporting of security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
