Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Premises Patrol) in Chester, VA. You will provide courteous security, maintain a visible presence, and help deter incidents while delivering outstanding customer service.

In this role, you will conduct patrols, monitor access points, respond calmly to incidents, and support the client location with professional security coverage. Prior safety-mindedness and reliability are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include CPR and First Aid preferred; CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted as per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of technology-focused office locations, parking areas, building perimeters, and other assigned areas, reporting observed concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and help maintain orderly entry and exit processes.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel according to established protocols.
• Assist with maintaining awareness of security-related conditions that may affect personnel, property, or operations, while providing professional support to the client location.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
