Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Suffolk, VA. You will provide customer service, monitor access, patrol premises, and respond to incidents while maintaining a visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen may be required; licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Conduct patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials, and direct individuals as needed.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, documenting observations and notifying site contacts or responders.
• Prepare timely reports of patrols and incidents and communicate with Allied Universal leadership.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will support access control, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, unauthorized access, and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and delivery traffic in accordance with site procedures; verify credentials and direct individuals to appropriate locations as needed.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare clear, timely reports of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities, and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
