Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Patrol Security Officer for a part-time role in Palo Alto, CA. The officer will patrol retail areas, monitor entrances, and provide courteous service to shoppers, tenants, and employees while following site procedures.

Required duties include reporting incidents, maintaining logs, and coordinating with supervisors. A high school diploma is required; a license is preferred, and background checks and drug screening apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of security-related experience.
• A state or local security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and employees by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of retail areas, parking lots, entrances, and perimeter to deter incidents and identify concerns.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident reports, communicating with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sun: 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, property concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while communicating professionally with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
