Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Menlo Park, CA. You will monitor a financial institution, provide customer service, and document observations to deter incidents.

Minimum 6 months of security experience is required; CPR/First Aid is preferred; a guard card/license is preferred. Schedule features Fri/Sat night shifts; training and growth opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor and employee activity, reporting unusual conditions.
• Complete patrol logs and incident reports while maintaining a professional presence.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vendor activity in accordance with site requirements, reporting unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while maintaining a professional presence at the location.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
