Job summary

Allied Universal in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Security Officer Loss Prevention Patrol at a premier luxury retail location. You will conduct unarmed patrols, deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to shoppers, staff and visitors.

You will monitor access points, observe activity, respond calmly to incidents, and document events following site procedures while coordinating with site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Qualifications

• Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• State or local security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing rules depend on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, associates, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a luxury retail location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail floor, entrances, exits, stock areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity while maintaining a professional, welcoming presence consistent with a high-end retail environment.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site-specific procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

Pay Rate: $27.25 / Hour

• Tue 09:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Wed 09:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Thur 09:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Fri 09:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Sat 09:00 AM - 07:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
