Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Richmond, VA. The role involves patrolling retail and mall areas, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a visible security presence.

A valid driver’s license is required for driving shifts, and the job includes a rotating schedule with day and night shifts. You will conduct patrols, assist visitors, observe and report issues, and adhere to site policies.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, business spaces, and the property perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, property concerns, maintenance hazards, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor guidance, and traffic or parking-related support as assigned at the retail location.
