Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Richmond, VA to protect clients across government and other sectors. You will patrol, deter incidents, and provide courteous service to residents, visitors, and staff while upholding our culture of care, reliability, and integrity.

As part of a flexible schedule, you can tailor shifts using the Claim a Shift platform. The role requires a valid security license or guard card where applicable and a commitment to safety and professional

Qualifications

• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen will be conducted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and coordinate with responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity and report unusual conditions to site leadership.
• Prepare accurate reports related to incidents and patrols.

As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government care setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist residents, visitors, and staff with professionalism. Pay Rate: $13.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Tue 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while communicating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with facility procedures, documenting observations and reporting unusual conditions to site leadership.
• Prepare accurate reports related to incidents, patrols, and security-related observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
