Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Richmond, VA to patrol facilities, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and visitors. You will work unarmed patrol duties at government healthcare locations, maintain visible presence, monitor access points, and follow site-specific procedures.

This role offers flexible daytime and weekend shifts via our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and government facility personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following procedures and contacting responders as needed.
• Document patrols and observations accurately and communicate to supervision.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and government facility personnel while carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, common areas, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with facility procedures, assisting with directions and reporting unusual or unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security‑related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
