Job summary

Allied Universal in Richmond, VA is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Access Control to safeguard government veterans care location. You will monitor premises, deter incidents, support access control, and deliver exceptional customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.

As a full-time unarmed officer, you will perform regular patrols, document incidents, and respond to emergencies while using smart tools to claim shifts and stay informed.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Access Control in RICHMOND, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government care location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government veterans care location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, medical-related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and assist with directing visitors, deliveries, and contractors.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and shift documentation regarding incidents, patrols, unusual activity, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
