Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time, Unarmed Patrol) for an Arlington, VA location. You will conduct patrols, deter incidents, respond to concerns, and deliver strong customer service at a tech/telecom-focused site.

The position requires 2+ years in security or related fields, supervisory experience, and a high school diploma. A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Criminal history considered per laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally; communicate observations to site contacts and leadership.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and exterior perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures; assist with directions and escalate unusual activity as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain logs for patrols, incidents, and other security activities.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a corporate technology location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with directions and escalating unusual activity as appropriate.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs for patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Possess supervisory experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
